In 2014, we became disenchanted working for a publicly traded brokerage firm. These firms generate 80% of their revenue from landlords, through listing representation, investment sales, and property management. Over two-thirds of buildings in downtown Seattle are represented by these firms. This creates two major conflicts of interest. First, they may represent both sides of your transaction. Second, and perhaps the bigger conflict, they are always trying to gain the landlord’s business, and the landlord may be using this as leverage with the firm, i.e. “If you get me this tenant, I’ll give you this listing.”
At Suite Partners our revenue is 100% tied to tenant representation, making it possible for us to push for the best deal for our clients without any allegiance to the landlord.
